Medellín: South America's apparel and fashion capital

Tour the factories and mills behind Colombian fashion, and time your trip around the region's biggest trade events.

Why Medellín

  • Often called the fashion capital of South America, Medellín and the surrounding Antioquia region host Colombia's textile, apparel, design and fashion cluster. It is organized as the "Cluster Moda" under the Medellín Chamber of Commerce, with the strategy "Marcas locales para mercados globales" (local brands for global markets).
  • Inexmoda, the institute that runs Colombia's two flagship fashion and textile fairs, is based in Medellín.
  • Both fairs take place at Plaza Mayor Medellín.
